About HomesNowA

One place to make sense of a home repair or upgrade before anyone shows up at your door.

Why I put this site together

I started HomesNowA because most people only think about their roof, furnace or pipes on the day something goes wrong. That is the worst moment to learn the vocabulary, compare options and decide who to let into the house.

So I gathered the six services that come up most often in a home and wrote plain notes on each one. What the warning signs look like, what a visit usually involves, and which questions are worth asking before any work begins.

When you sign up, you tell me what the trouble is and where it sits in the house. I use that to point your request at the right kind of help, and nothing gets booked until you say so.

How I go about it

Three habits shape every request that comes through this site.

Name the problem first

A stain on the ceiling could be a roof leak, a sweating pipe or a failed bathroom seal. I help you narrow it down before you pay for the wrong visit.

Plain words only

No trade jargon on this site. If a term matters, I explain it in a sentence you could repeat to a neighbor without checking anything.

Your pace, your decision

A request here is a conversation, not a commitment. You pick the service, the details and the day, and you can stop at any point.

Something at home needs attention?

Tell me what is going on and where it is. I will take it from there and keep you in the loop at every step.

How a home service gets moving

It takes four short steps, and nothing is booked until you say so.

  1. 1

    Choose the service

Windows, heating and cooling, plumbing, solar, roofing or pest control.

  2. 2

    Name the trouble spot

Is it the attic, kitchen, basement, roof or yard? The fix starts in the right place.

  3. 3

    Share the details

Say what's broken or what you'd like installed. Rough details are fine.

  4. 4

    Set the visit day

Pick a time that suits you, and the install, repair or treatment begins at your home.

Who finds this useful

Most people who write in fall into one of these groups. If you see yourself here, the signup form is the quickest next step.

First time homeowners

You inherited a furnace, a roof and a set of pipes with no manual. Start here before the first cold snap.

Owners of older houses

Original windows, aging ducts and tired shingles each have their own quirks. I help you decide what to fix first.

Busy households

You do not have an afternoon to research contractors. Share the details once and let me sort the rest.

Anyone planning an upgrade

Solar panels, new windows or a quieter heat pump are big spends. I help you check the fit before you commit.
